WHAT CAN THIS HELP WITH?

Mindfulness has been shown by high quality research, to improve wellbeing, coping with stress, mental health difficulties (e.g. preventing relapse in depression) and chronic health difficulties. Increasingly large numbers of healthcare professionals, elite athletes, those in positions of high responsibility (e.g. politicians, company directors) as well as workplace staff in general, are utilising mindfulness skills and principles. In addition many high performance athletes now utilise mindfulness to improve focus, team work and quality of recovery/rest times.

WHERE WILL THE GROUPS RUN?

Large Meeting Room, Jersey Hospice Care, Clarkson House, Mont Cochon, St Helier, Jersey, JE2 3JB 09:00-11:30am

WHEN AND HOW LONG FOR?

Each group runs over eight (mostly consecutive) Saturday morning sessions. Arrival is recommended for 08:50 am for 9am start, and lasting around 2.5 hours, including breaks (arrival on the first day is 08:30am to allow for registration). Please wear comfortable clothing.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

The cost of each course is £ 350

Fee includes:  mats, stools/cushions, tea coffee and biscuits on course days, as well as hand-outs and CDs/USB with audio tracks for personal practice. Concessions may be available in some instances e.g. students, pensioners, people unemployed due to disability and also we offer concessions to parents wishing to attend with young adults (16+. Please get in touch if you have a specific query around this.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END OF THE COURSE?

By the end of the course you will have all you need to know to start a successful mindfulness practice, both in terms of meditation and also in terms of everyday life.

WHAT IF I STRUGGLE WITH KEEPING UP WHAT I LEARNT ON THE COURSE?

At Jersey Interational Midfulness Centre, we run regular drop-in sessions (11:40-12:20) that run on the same days of our courses and at a very competitive rate.

DO I NEED TO ATTEND ALL SESSIONS AND IS THERE ANY HOMEWORK?

We recommend attending all sessions and a minimum of 6-7. However, we do recap the previous session each time so, your teacher will be there to help you fill-in any gaps. Your teacher will invite you to practice 15-20 minutes daily in between sessions (more if you can). This is extremely important to get good benefit. However, we appreciate people are busy and so, fpor as long as you can start growing the practice in your life, during the 8 weeks of the course, you should gather some benefit.

DO YOU OFFER CONCESSIONS?

Yes very often. We usally offer one free charitable organisation place per session and concessionary places, assessed depending on your needs and request.
